19.5 Anniversary Comedy for a Cure will be a HYBRID event livestreamed from Feinstein's at Vitello's in Studio City, CA for both virtual and in-person attendees.
Everyone who attends will enjoy a pre-event reception (celebrity meet-and-greets, games and even a musical performance by Althea Grace), followed by a main stage short program, virtual auction and Fund-a-Cure segment followed by hysterical comedy.
The event provides the TSC Alliance with a platform to highlight and honor those who have made significant differences in our fight against TSC. This year, we are pleased to honor Wendy Liebman with the TSC Champion Award and recognize Althea Grace with the Courage in Leadership Award.
Wendy Liebman has been a significant behind-the-scenes contributor to Comedy for a Cure and the mission of the TSC Alliance for many years. She is a founding member of the event’s Comedian Committee, has charmed us with her comedic performances and has advocated with her fellow entertainers to join our cause. Since 1985, after taking a class called “How to Be a Stand-up Comedian” at The Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Wendy has been seen on Carson, Letterman, Leno, Fallon, Kimmel, Rosie and Ferguson and has starred in specials for HBO, Comedy Central and Showtime.
Althea Grace – singer, songwriter, guitarist – burst on to American Idol Season 19. Originally from Chicago, her journey with her two-year old daughter Lennon was highlighted and helped raise incredible awareness of TSC. Althea’s goal is to give voice to her daughter and all those living with TSC through her platform of music.
